January 2013

Happy New Year!  Today, January 1st marks our 10th year in Thailand.  We prayed at the entrance of the New Year and asked God to give us many more years of service here as well as thanking God for all those who have supported us financially and prayerfully for so many years.  What a blessing to serve God!

Bible Institute.  We will be finishing the semester around the end of January.  It has been a great semester and the on-line courses have been working great.  We are praying that we will have even better participation next semester (worth in terms of more instructors and more students).  Training future leaders is a huge part of our ministry and is vital to the success of our church plant.

New Life Baptist Church
.  We had our annual Christmas party at a local resort and had a very good turnout.  Four of my fellow professors from the university came as well as about 10 students and many guests of our members.  It was a fun time but most importantly everyone left with a clear presentation of the Gospel.  We also did a Christmas program at the elementary school that a single missionary (Atalie Habal) working with us teac
he's at.  Dtom (Bible student) taught about the birth of Christ, we sang several songs, and the children did a poem and some songs that Atalie taught them previously.  Again, everyone heard the Gospel and the teachers/staff invited us to come again next year.  We have been systematically passing out tracts in our district and have passed out almost 10,000 tracts in the last 4 months.  Only one person has visited (they were a member of another church) but we are not weary in well doing.  Truthfully, trying to reach the Thai people is a discouraging work and we often ask ourselves what we can.  If not for the comfort the Lord gives as we struggle we would have quit long ago.  Often when discouraged we look at the faithful members of the church and are again encouraged by the power of God to change lives.  Please pray for the churches in Thailand and for us in this area.

Prayer Requests:  The Professors Mike works with: Aom, Ying, Noh, and Daeng for salvation. Mike’s students for salvation and spiritual growth.  The Bible school students: Tom, Matt, Dtom.  Pray for Nin and Sahn for spiritual growth.  You can sign-up for updates at our web site;  We pray God’s blessing as you continue to serve the Lord!

For Christ in Thailand,

Mike & Francis Frederick
